2071, il fabbisogno di energia dell’umanità è soddisfatto attraverso un sistema di induttori elettrici infra-dimensionali denominati coil. Cavi, batterie e fossili combustibili, appartengono al passato, ora le persone possono estrarre l'energia direttamente tramite i coils. La loro fonte inesauribile è la dimensione W, un quarto piano dimensionale, oltre X, Y e Z. In questa realtà esistono dei contrabbandieri di energia, che usano i coils per scopi distruttivi. Mabuchi Kyouma, un uomo con la passione per le vecchie macchine, è diffidente verso la nuova tecnologia e ha delle buone ragioni per scoprire quali danni possano causare queste apparecchiature. Kyouma accetta, su incarico di una certa Marie, di recuperare apparecchiature illegali in cambio di soldi e benzina. In queste missioni sarà affiancato, suo malgrado, da Mira, un coil androide unico nel suo genere.
